Christmas Paper Chain

Yesterday, D and I made a paper chain to count down the days until Christmas. I would have liked to make an advent calendar but with all of the craziness I just couldn't get around to it.

We just cut paper strips to make our chain.

Peek, I see you.

We thought the chain needed a little jazzing up so we added some paper snowflakes.

This was not easy for D. The idea of not cutting the paper all the way through and just making little snips was hard.

Here is our completed project. (Think we need a hair cut? I am off to do it right after this post.)

This morning the first thing we did when we woke up was to take off a loop.

Very cute! At our volunteer appreciation the other night at church they made an advent calendar with a paper chain. They printed up one thing for each day...some were verses and others were ideas on how to spend time doing something as a family.

That is so cute, That is all we've ever done for an Advent calendar. I know just as I did, my kids enjoyed making the chain more then counting the days to Christmas.

The chain is very cute - love the bed hair too. The haircut in the post above turned out very nice!
