Premature? Maybe

A few days ago Johnsie and I got into our Halloween decor stash.
Premature? Maybe.

The rest of the family thought so anyway. The big skull was purchased last year at Target on clearance. The little glitter skull is from the Dollar tree and the spooky house was a clearance item from last year too. It came assembled. We just had to decorate it. Chickie and Ryan helped. Yeah, it is old candy but, who cares.

The candelabra is from the thrift store. The candles, crow, and creepy material are from the Dollar Tree. And we found a ton of old books at a garage sale this past weekend. I need to melt the candles down a little to get them a little more spooky.

Grammy gave us this cutie last year.

These skulls are from the Dollar Tree, of course and the jar is a thrift store find.

I bought this plate last year on clearance at Gordman's. One of my favorite shopping days of the year is the day after Halloween. Awesome day to load up on dress up clothes too. I have actually bought clearanced costumes and saved them for Christmas gifts.

Johnsie thought we needed a bat.

Specifically, a two-headed bat. He is so proud of this guy. This was great scissor practice for him. He cut the 2 big circles.

This is just the beginning of decorations. I figure, I need to wait until at least October 1st for the rest.

13th Annual Zoo Boo

Our local zoo, which is awesome by the way, has an annual event called Zoo Boo. It is held down in the zoo at night and it is so cool. People from local businesses dress up and stand scattered around handing out treats. The zoo is all decorated and they have glowing jack-o-lanterns everywhere.

However, since it was so yucky today, check out the prior post, they held Zoo Boo in the local middle school. Let's just say it didn't come anywhere close to the normal event. But, D had fun anyway and that's what counts, Right?

This year D NEEDED to be a vampire. Why? Because Max, from Max and Ruby, was a vampire.

Trick or Treat

Thank you

Hanging out McGruff the Crime Dog.

Painting pumpkins

We picked these pumpkins from our garden the other day and decided it was time to paint them.

N being very creative. A black pumpkin?

We called Ryan and got him on Skpe so he could watch the kids paint. Notice him on the computer. Yesterday, we also had our first family supper with him in NY. We plan to do this at least once a week. We just set up the computer on the table and ate supper like we always do. Of course, the kids and I were all crowded on one side of the table so he could see all of us. We had pizza. I wanted us to all be eating the same thing.

We always use acrylic paint for pumpkins. So, D is always stripped down since it is permanent.

A making her masterpiece.

A painted all of these.

Cute girl

N and his creation. He used toothpicks to attach the little pumpkin. He wanted it to look like the big one was eating the little one.

D and his creations. He needed to attach his little black pumpkin like N did. He likes to copy everything his big brother does.

White Pumpkins

This year we planted pumpkins again and I got this idea from Skip to my Lou. We have a ton of decorations for Halloween but, with trying to sell the house I don't dare put many out. So, I thought these were a small start. D keeps asking to take out some more but, I am just not sure.
I just used a sharpie to make these. My cricut is already packed up but, I may need to unpack it. I have had so many ideas lately. Or at least I have been inspired by so many blog posts and the wanna be crafter in me is screaming to get out and do something.
