Tot School

Tot School

All printables can be found on my March 22nd post.

This was a flip book we made this week. You cut all of the pages apart except the front and back covers. Then you attach them together with rings.

I didn't have the correct rings so I used 2 key rings and a chain. I would advise getting the rings that come apart. These were hard to get on the paper. But it worked well enough.

We worked on R's and rainbows.

One night I sat watching TV and cut out letters from newspaper ads and then covered them with contact paper.

Now we are sorting them.

R is for rainbow.

Tracing our R's.

Making a rainbow with finger paints. We did the old fold in half trick.

I think this week we are going to make a pot of gold to go under this.

Ahhh. The Hulk invaded our house. After we made our rainbow we of course needed to get down and dirty with our finger paints. Johnsie only wanted to use green. We will cut the sheet into shamrocks and maybe I will have him sprinkle on some green glitter.

We used these printables from Confessions of a Homeschooler. Awhile ago I made the letters using water bottle/juice caps and foam stickers I found at Michaels.

I also printed this from Confessions of a Homeschooler. It is called Roll a Rainbow.

Using dobbers.

Can you guess we like green in this house.

Try this it is Neat.

Get a shallow container of milk. Place a couple drops of different food coloring in the milk. Next dip a toothpick into a little dish soap and then dip it into the milk. Watch Johnsie's video and see what happens?

For the answer read Cool Science.

Here is what we are going to make next week. Leprechaun 1 and Leprechaun 2

Johnsie is really into letters. He is always making his legs into letters. It is so funny. I need to get pics of it.

We were making letters on the geoboard. I didn't get a picture of any letters. Sorry.

Still working on letters.

Patterning. We love this Melissa and Doug toy.

We worked on vehicles this week. We made a train track out of tooth picks. Johnsie was very adamant that the caboose go behind the engine and not at the end. To each his own. :)

Sorting vehicles and non vehicles. Get it here and here

We stuck some vehicles stickers, I had purchased awhile ago from the Dollar Tree, on a scenic coloring sheet.

Since Johnsie is now showing a small interest in letters, we jumped into doing some letter worksheets. You can get this finding a here .

Here he is working on a capital A. You can get this capital A tracer here.

He really enjoyed tracing the letters. You can get the lower case a tracer here.

Other Aa sheets can are here: A collage, beginning A, little a search, tracing Aa, finding A and a, tracer Aa. We have only worked through some of these. I did not create any of them.

Writing our letters in shaving cream in the tub.

We play with Legos all the time. These have been packed down in the basement since we got to NY. I brought them up a few days ago and Johnsie hasn't stopped playing with them.

I blogged about graphing earlier this week here.

Dominoes

I also already posted about these patterning sheets here.

Tot School

We have not done a Tot School post in forever. We have been doing stuff but, I just never get around to this post. Anyway, here are some things we have been working on.

Johnsie is finally seeming a little interested in writing. I was getting worried since he is almost 4 and can only write a few letters. Now we seem to be off and running.

A Walmart buy. Color ink is so expensive and I always feel guilty when I use it. When I do print in color I ALWAYS use page protectors and have Johnsie use washable markers or I cover things in contact paper.

Same beginning sounds

What belongs?

Pre-writing

He is such a HUGE FAN of automoblox. We are for sure getting him more for his birthday.

He is forever creating.

This is all random stuff from our junk drawer. We 1st played an eye spy game and then using fewer items we played the game where you take an object away and you need to guess what's missing.

Like I posted earlier. We love the book How to Build an A.

We worked on learning how to make colors.

Masterpiece!

I LOVE this book. I have wanted to the playdoh activity that you see all the time with this book and we finally got around to it.

Yellow and Blue make Green.
